Local Help
The V Spot in Scranton hosted an event last weekend with the same goal of helping out victims of Hurricane Sandy. For a $5 dollar donation to the Red Cross at the door, attendees enjoyed live music from 2 Minute Warning, Jackson Vee, Pissed & Mizerable, Jigsaw Johnny, Destination West, Pink Slip and Governing Murphy. Organized by Brian “Boggs” Gaughan from Pissed & Mizerable, the event combined money collected from the door with a portion of the V Spot’s sales of the day as a donation to the Red Cross.
When Push Comes to Shove
The self-proclaimed greatest hit making musical machine known as The Push will release their new album in the New Year with a special rock extravaganza on Jan. 5, 2013 at The Vintage Theater in Scranton. The Push Album Release Concert is sure to feature nothing but infectious grooves brought to you by Scranton’s own Jim Reynolds and Tim McDermott, the brains and brawn behind The Push’s beefy sound. It’s going to be a straight rock show, boys and girls. Not a show for the lover of B-sides; they only know how to play the hits.
It has begun
There I was in the mall. It didn’t start off too horrific. I found a couple solid sales and accomplished a few secret Christmas missions. I dodged the hand lotion girl like a tennis ball being shot out of an air cannon by an American Gladiator and politely declined a beef sample. I almost made it to the safety of the exit door, but then it hit my ears; “The Christmas Shoes”. The holidays are here again, and so is THAT song.
Here’s what’s in my headphones this week: Deftones Koi No Yokan (Reprise) 2012
