Graham on Grammy Awards

Looks like the night may belong to Adele

Dude, you’re getting Adele. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will be held this weekend and be prepared to see the British darling make multiple visits to the podium as she is destined to own the night. Here’s a list of nominees along with my predicted winners:

ALBUM OF THE YEAR
21 Adele
Wasting Light Foo Fighters
Born This Way Lady Gaga
Doo-Wops & Hooligans Bruno Mars
Loud Rihanna

And the Grammy goes to 21 Adele. You’re going to be hearing this quite a bit on Sunday night. Adele used her serious pipes and recorded a nearly flawless record showcasing her skills. I have a feeling The Recording Academy is going to throw the kitchen sink at her.

SONG OF THE YEAR
“All Of The Lights” Kanye West, Rihanna,
Kid Cudi & Fergie
“The Cave” Mumford & Sons
“Grenade” Bruno Mars
“Holocene” Bon Iver
“Rolling In The Deep” Adele

And the Grammy goes to “Rolling In The Deep” Adele. I hope she brings a few ex-boyfriends to help carry all of her awards.

BEST NEW ARTIST
The Band Perry
Bon Iver
J. Cole
Nicki Minaj
Skrillex

And the Grammy goes to Nicki Minaj. She has been popping up everywhere as of late and The Recording Academy loves artists who spread themselves across multiple genres.

BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM
21 Adele
The Lady Killer Cee Lo Green
Born This Way Lady Gaga
Doo-Wops & Hooligans Bruno Mars
Loud Rihanna

And the Grammy goes to 21 Adele. I wouldn’t be surprised if she cashes in on all six nominations unless Lady Gaga pulls off an upset.

BEST RAP ALBUM
Watch The Throne Jay-Z & Kanye West
Tha Carter IV Lil Wayne
Lasers Lupe Fiasco
Pink Friday Nicki Minaj
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Kanye West

And the Grammy goes to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Kanye West. I just hope Taylor Swift doesn’t interrupt his acceptance speech.

BEST ROCK ALBUM
Rock ‘N’ Roll Party Honoring Les Paul Jeff Beck
Wasting Light Foo Fighters
Come Around Sundown Kings Of Leon
I’m With You Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Whole Love Wilco

And the Grammy goes to Wasting Light Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl claims to be attending the Grammys to represent the rock. He’s right, and they are bringing home the win.

BEST POP PERFORMANCE BY A DUO OR GROUP WITH VOCALS
“Body And Soul” Tony Bennett & Amy
Winehouse
“Dearest” The Black Keys
“Paradise” Coldplay
“Pumped Up Kicks” Foster The People
“Moves Like Jagger” Maroon 5 & Christina
Aguilera

And the Grammy goes to “Moves Like Jagger” Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera. Everywhere I turn I hear that whistle hook, and golly jeez, I sure do enjoy me a whistle hook.

BEST COUNTRY PERFORMANCE BY A DUO OR GROUP WITH VOCALS
“Don’t You Wanna Stay” Jason Aldean With
Kelly Clarkson
“You And Tequila” Kenny Chesney Featuring
Grace Potter
“Barton Hollow” The Civil Wars
“Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” Thompson
Square

And the Grammy goes to “Barton Hollow” The Civil Wars. Simplicity at its best, The Civil Wars deliver stripped down magic and grab the Grammy.
