Seinfeld Campus Tour coming to Scranton

If you know what we mean when we ask if you're master of your domain, then you'll want to clear your schedule for Wednesday, Aug. 27, when you'll have an opportunity to get your Seinfeld jollies (not that there's anything wrong with that).

The Seinfeld Campus Tour will be coming to the University of Scranton for a one-day stop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of St. Thomas Hall at the corner of Linden Street and Monroe Avenue. The tour will also stop at the Gallery of Sound on Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre at a time not yet announced.

Unfortunately none of the actors from the hit '90s sitcom will be on the bus, so you won't get a chance to have a poppy seed bagel with Elaine, talk about the Yankees with George, offer a Junior Mint to Kramer, or tell Jerry your name rhymes with a part of the female anatomy.

What you will get to do - admission is free - is check out the 60-foot tour bus, which will house original scripts and costumes from the show, watch some of the most memorable moments from the show, check out the new Seinfeld "Scene It" DVD game that will be out this Fall, and record your own video imitating characters or great moments from the show.

As if that's not enough to keep the Seinfeld-iest of us busy for a long while, there will also be giveaways, including the challenging Marine Biologist Hole-in-One where attendees will attempt to knock a golf ball in a whale's blowhole to win a digital camera. (No word yet on if people named Cosmo Kramer are ineligible for that contest). Other giveaway prizes include a walkman, USB bracelets, t-shirts, hats, door hangers and other Seinfeld-branded materials.

So put on your puffy shirt, cancel your vacation to Del Boca Vista, postpone your job interview with Vandalay Industries, hop into your smelly car and head to the U of S to check out the Seinfeld Campus Tour.

While the Tour will give fans just about all the Seinfeld trivia and memorabilia they can handle, it will also help the community. Dosomething.org. and Sony Pictures Television are launching a canned food drive, which they are calling "DO SOMETHING with SEINFELD." The initiative encourages young people, specifically college students, to take action in their communities. During the Tour, canned foods will be collected for distribution at foodbanks across the country. For more info on the program, visit www.dosomething.org or www.seinfeld.com.
