When is the Legends Reunion?
The Legends Reunion will take place on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1:30 p.m. Gates open at noon. Rain or shine event.
Where will the game be played?
The Legends Reunion game will happen at
PNC Field in Moosic, Pa.
Why Scranton/Wilkes-Barre?
Scranton was once home to the Scranton Red Sox, the Boston farm team that won Eastern League championships in 1939, 1942, 1946 and 1948. In 1948, Red Sox greats Ted Williams and Dom DiMaggio visited Scranton to play in an exhibition game against the Scranton Red Sox.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre currently hosts a team in the AAA International League. In 2007, the New York Yankees came to town, signing a player development contract with the local franchise – now known as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. Northeastern Pa. baseball fans – who once cheered future Red Sox stars – now head to PNC Field to root, root, root for the Yankees of tomorrow.
