For something different - and outstanding - try Trivento 2007 Mendoza Torrontes. This wine from Argentina is made from the lesser-known torrontes grape which the Argentine industry is pushing as its trademark grape. I can't get enough of it.
Trivento Torrontes smells of citrus, crème, vanilla and mango reminded me of "lemon lush" dessert. The wine tastes of grapefruit and has an exotic, tropical edge and a dry finish. Interesting and unique, this is how I often wish pinot grigio tasted. For this price, you'll have a tough time finding a more pleasing white wine. Four and a half glasses. $10.
