My boyfriend is very anti-microwaves. He's already assured me that when we move in together, my microwave is not a welcomed guest, so I've tried to wean myself from it.

I'm doing a pretty good job, but I absolutely have to make an exception when I go to Circles on the Square situated on, you guessed it, Wilkes-Barre's Public Square. There are over 60 creatively named sandwiches on the menu, ranging from newsworthy Letter to the Editor (Turkey breast, Monterey Jack cheese, Vidalia onion relish, and Russian dressing on a French loaf for $6.05) to Route 11 favorite Brian's Say Shickshinny (Blazing Buffalo spiced chicken breast with English applewood smoked cheddar, barbeque sauce, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on whole wheat for $5.60) to local business namesake The Kirby Show Stopper (Black forest smoked ham with smoked mozzarella chesse, champagne mustard, and coleslaw on a French loaf for $5.85).

Though they're all very delicious, especially with the super-sized pickle slices that usually accompany each, my choice is almost always the Fowler's Dikken-Walker (which is easier to say than, "Can I have a No. 13, please?" when ordering). The baked and breaded chicken breast fillet with mozzarella and American cheeses is nuked on a hard roll before getting topped with tomato, mayo, and lettuce. It's absolutely divine (even with its short romp in the 'wave).

The warm, tender cut of chicken absolutely hits the spot every time. Just make sure that spot isn't on your lap. Trust me: Keep the sandwich wrapped in the paper while you're eating it. If not, the tomato might use the mayo as a way to escape out of the bread and onto your pants.

The sandwich is so big, you're going to need your entire lunch break to devour it. You won't have time to run home and change your pants as well.

If your sweet tooth needs a fix, Circles and its delectable cookies have got you covered. Yes, they're meant to be cookies, but they are more like a wadded ball of chocolate chip and walnut goodness than anything else. They're soft and fresh, better than those Keebler elves could do.

The weather was beautiful on a recent trip to Circles, so we decided to eat lunch outside. Sure, the slight wind wanted to make our paper bags dance, but the sun beating down on our dozen cookies ($5) melted the chips, giving a great surprise when we bit in.

But if incredibleness between bread isn't your thing, Circles has a good sized salad bar to feed your hunger.
