Dark Star Orchestra

(Concerts/Events)

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 7:30 p.m.

Dark Star Orchestra has been performing together from coast to coast for nine years to the tune of nearly 1500 shows. This proves the bands commitment to “raising the Dead.”

Fans of Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra have already heard the news. Guitarist and founding member John Kadlecik had decided to resign from the band after an estimated 1700 performances. Kadlecick’s last show will be Dec. 5 in Buffalo, NY which makes his Wednesday appearance at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe one of the final opportunities to see him play with DSO. In a letter to its fans posted at www.darkstarorchestra.net on Nov. 16, the band counted more than 10 members come and gone in its 12 year history. It will be joined this winter by guitarist Jeff Mattson of the Zen Tricksters and the Donna Jean Godchaux Band. Wednesday’s concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $30. Call 325-0371 or visit www.pennspeak.com for more information.
